Meet Our Team
JENNIFER SCHWAB WANGERS
Founder and CEO
Jennifer Schwab Wangers, the founder and CEO of ENTITY Academy has one goal in mind: to support diverse professionals through education and mentorship. Her driving force in founding ENTITY was her lack of female mentors in her twenties, leaving her to learn solely through trial and error. Despite this, Jennifer was able to build a successful career, which motivated her to pay it forward to the next generation of leaders by providing mentorship early in their career trajectories.
Jennifer left her job as a tax consultant at Ernst & Young to pursue her passions. She went on to co-found Sierra Club Green Home, a preeminent sustainable lifestyle web property, the first time Sierra Club ever entered into a joint venture with impact investors. After exiting Sierra Club, Jennifer launched ENTITY Academy in 2016. Since then, she’s built the company to be the largest upskilling marketplace for diverse professionals dedicated to educating and helping them navigate the 21st-century job market so they can launch careers with high earning potential and advancement opportunities.
Jennifer is a huge advocate and media spokesperson for sustainability. As such, she had a regular column in HuffPost called “My Inner Green.” She has also been quoted in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Dwell, Fortune, Forbes, CNN Money, CNBC, and Consumer Reports, among others. She has appeared on WSJ Lunch Break, NBCU, CBS, Cheddar, and Fox News. Jennifer was previously a frequent green contributor on ABC’s Good Morning America.
In 2014, she completed a Fulbright Fellowship in Israel, with an emphasis on water management and sustainability. Jennifer avidly follows design and is a longtime hobbyist pilot licensed in a high-performance, multi-engine aircraft. She received her B.S. in accounting from the University of Arkansas Walton School of Business, her M.A. in urban planning from UC Irvine, and studied environmental design at Art Center College of Design. Jennifer is an avid amateur padel and tennis player.
