Atousa Pourkashiyan started playing chess at the age of eight. She has since earned numerous titles and won various prestigious chess events, including gold medalist for the 2000 World Youth Championship, Woman International Master at the age of 14, Woman Grandmaster in the Chess Olympiad 2008, gold medalist for the Asian Championship in the Philippines 2010, qualifier for the Russia World Cup, bronze medalist in the Asian Championship (Blitz) 2016, and many more. Aside from chess, Atousa graduated from Tehran University with a bachelor’s in physical education and sport science and earned a master’s degree in sport management.
