Jared Cooperband

After graduating with a bachelor’s in computer science, Jared Cooperband worked as a developer in the gaming, consulting, and telecommunications sectors. In 2013, cybersecurity started to become a very heated topic after Edward Snowden’s whistleblowing. Jared went back to school, doing a post-grad degree in network and systems security analysis, and then acquired several cybersecurity certifications. Since then, he has worked on security operations in the consulting, gaming, and transportation industries, running vulnerability management in the finance industry, and informational security (infosec) management in the legal, real estate, and software industries. He is currently the global manager, cybersecurity, for Toronto’s Dye & Durham, a leading provider of cloud-based software. Jared has been active as a Springboard mentor and community contributor since 2021 and has mentored over 40 students.
